Welcome to Evolutional Healing

Welcome to Evolutional Healing Longevity Clinic of North Carolina! Thank you for coming to explore the world of Acupuncture, Bodywork and Herbs. In order to understand Chinese Medicine, it is important to understand Qi (ch-eee), the vital energy of the body, is real.

“To live is to have Qi in every part of your body moving, to die is to be a body without Qi. In order to be vital, the proper balance of Qi must be maintained.”

– Classic Chinese Medical text, Nan-Jing, 5th Cent. B.C
Einstein proved that everything is made of energy ,and radiates energy including our bodies. For 5,000 years practitioners of Acupuncture refer to this energy as Qi. It is the essence in all living things from the tallest tree to the smallest cell. Inside our bodies this intelligent energetic system maintains balance, unity and health. Qi flows as an invisible current through pathways called meridians which run throughout the body like rivers, nourishing each related organ. Along these meridians there are points which allow access to the Qi. Through careful diagnosis the Acupuncturist selects specific points to help ensure that the Qi is moving without obstruction, and in a smooth, evenly manner. When Qi is balanced and flowing freely, internal stability and harmony occur. The body flourishes, and full health and vitality are expressed through a long life.

“Acupuncture and herbs are two of the world’s most widely practiced forms of medicine”

The science of Chinese Medicine has transcended through the centuries. To practice this science is to be an artist and a doctor, because it is necessary to blend logic and intuition, emotion and feeling, symptoms and syndromes, guide and counselor. To understand illness, it is necessary to understand the person. A cough is not just a cough. Is it from a cold that has long past? Or, is it from unresolved grief? There are many contributing factors that must be evaluated to properly asses a persons state of health in order to evoke proper healing. The inability to resolve illness and pain, to evolve past self limitations are usually due to unresolved emotional issues. I want to better my self, but I don’t believe in myself. A worrisome person can have digestive issues, stomach ulcers, IBS. An angry/irritable person can have headaches, menstrual complications/pain, hypertension. These are just a few examples of how physical symptoms stem from emotional issues.
The true gift of Chinese Medicine is that it is one of very few, select forms of medicine that can actually address a physical symptom and an emotional imbalance at the same time. To evoke such healing, it is necessary to touch a person at their very essence, the core of their being. In 33yrs of experience in the Holistic healing field, Kyle has yet to experience a form of medicine that is more powerful in results and precise in implementation.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is acupuncture painful?
Every person’s experience is unique. The range of sensation starts from nothing at all to a brief ache or heaviness in the area being needled. Some points are more sensitive than others. What most patients describe is that these sensations are fleeting and followed by deep relaxation.
Why would I see an acupuncturist?
Many patients begin acupuncture treatment to find relief from a wide range of physical conditions. What often begins as a concern over several symptoms often transforms into deep personal healing that reaches far beyond the physical condition. The greatest reason to begin acupuncture treatment is to recover and cultivate your awareness of the tremendous healing power of your body. Acupuncture awakens the senses and offers the possibility of deep healing of the body, mind and spirit. Many patients experience increased clarity, creativity and deeper meaning in their day-to-day lives.
Is acupuncture covered by insurance?
More and more insurance companies are covering acupuncture treatments. Ask your insurer for the terms of coverage on your policy. Full payment is required at the time of treatment.
Are the needles safe?
Yes. Sterile disposable needles are used. They are used once and then disposed of immediately.
Are there different styles of acupuncture?
There are many styles/traditions of acupuncture. What separates most traditions from one another is the diagnostic process and the corresponding treatment planning process. Please feel free to contact us if you want to learn more.
Do I have to be ill to benefit from acupuncture?
Absolutely not. Many patients come for regular treatments to achieve increased effectiveness and enjoyment at work. Many others come to help deepen their relationships with others. Acupuncture is also a powerful preventative measure to keep patients healthy throughout their lives.
How frequently do I need to come to benefit from treatment?
Following the initial consultation, ideally you will be seen in weekly one-hour sessions for 6-8 visits. During this time, significant signs of progress will likely appear. As patients experience improvement in their condition and enjoy a greater sense of ease in life, treatments may be extended to every other week, every three weeks, monthly and eventually seasonally. The frequency of treatments varies with each individual. Strict adherence to patient confidentiality is maintained at all times.
I want to come for treatment, what do I do next?
Make an appointment though the online booking system or get in touch with us through the information on the Contact Us page. We will discuss your concerns and schedule an initial visit. During your first visit we will explore a treatment schedule that will best meet your needs.
How do I get the most out of each treatment?
Be sure to eat a balanced meal before coming to treatment. Avoid caffeine in coffee, tea, or sodas during the day of treatment. Avoid intense physical activity, very spicy foods and exposure to extreme heat like a suan, before or after your scheduled treatment.
How does acupuncture work?
This highly effective system of medical care is based on natural laws, which govern the movement of vital life giving energy, both in nature and in the body. This energy, called Qi, moves through the body in precise channels, called meridians, supporting functions of the body, mind and spirit. When the Qi is moving disharmoniously, imbalance begins to surface in the form of specific symptoms. To address the underlying cause of a condition, these symptoms are viewed in relationship to the totality of a person in order to explore the root cause of a condition or illness. The gentle insertion of hair thin needles at specific points along the meridians of Qi energy, help restore harmony at the deepest level of the body, mind, and spirit. In the presence of this subtle yet profound intervention, symptoms often resolve and patients frequently experience deep personal transformation.

Insurance

While more insurance companies are reimbursing for acupuncture therapies every day, many still do not, or have exclusions that restrict reimbursement to physicians (M.D.’s) or for certain conditions (eg. pain only).

MEDCOST®, Wake Forest Baptist Health’s primary insurer, reimburses for acupuncture, including services by licensed acupuncturists (not just MDs).  The “High” plan covers up to 90% of costs up to $1000 per calendar year of services (after deductible), while the “Low” plan covers up to 70% of costs up to $1000 per calendar year of services.

Other insurance carriers that cover acupuncture (depending upon your plan) include Aetna®,United Health Care®, and Blue Cross Blue Shield®, although BCBS of North Carolina® does not reimburse for acupuncture provided by a Licensed Acupuncturist (L.Ac.).  We suggest you call your insurance company to ask about specific coverage of L.Ac. administered acupuncture. Health Savings or Flexible Medical Spending Accounts nearly always reimburse for acupuncture.

WE DO NOT FILE INSURANCE, however, if you have insurance coverage and so request, we will provide you with the appropriate billing reimbursement information (ICD-9 and CPT Coding) adequate for you to self-file for your own reimbursement.
